Dear SagerStrong Family and Friends –
Happy Holiday Season! This is the best time of year to say “thanks to YOU” for your continued commitment to the Foundation! Because of your support, we are able to move the mission forward in memory of Craig- and we are truly grateful!
2023 was a unique year for us. We started the year off with a bang, traveling with the SagerStrong Bentley to the SuperBowl and the NBA All Star game to gather signatures – amassing 93 signatures on the car, and spending time with some of Craig’s closest friends, recounting stories about his life, and continuing to build his legacy. (After a whirlwind of the Bentley Tour and events through the 2023 All Star game in February, we are looking for the right opportunity to make the biggest impact with the Bentley for the Foundation.)
We hosted our second annual March Mania at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta – what a GREAT afternoon visiting the Zone at Children’s – and our partners were fabulous, helping us create so much fun for the patients able to attend – to make them feel like for a moment, they were just enjoying a beautiful day, and not in the hospital! Thank you to our friends at the Atlanta Hawks for the amazing swag and SHOES for all of the attendees –that was the BEST! Thank you as well to the talented Harry the Hawk and the A-Town Dancers for adding excitement and style to the event! A special thank you to Tandoori Pizza & Wing Co. for the yummy pizza, Crumbl Cookies for a delicious cookie break, and our own volunteers for making it a memorable afternoon! The patients and families left with their arms full of goodies and a great experience!
We were sad to postpone this year’s local golf tournament and Stadium Fun Run, BUT, we had an opportunity to do a very cool destination version of the Living Out Loud Golf Tournament in October at the prestigious Floridian Golf Course in Palm City, FL, so we went for it! The SagerStrong Foundation partnered with local charity, Skyland Trail, to do a joint event – in celebration of Craig’s spirit to raise funds for those battling blood cancer, and to bring light to mental health awareness – as Craig knew, and we all know, having a positive mental attitude is key in the fight against cancer. Thanks to our amazing sponsors, donors, partners, golfers and volunteers in making it a wonderful weekend for all, raising over $340,000 for the charities!
We introduced our 5th Hometown Hero, Gianna Dubiel at the golf event. Gianna was selected out of another amazing group of inspiring pediatric patients as our 2023 SagerStrong Hometown Hero. Gianna and her family came to Florida to receive the award and share her cancer journey! And – we are only just scratching the surface… we have a lot of work in front of us. We are grateful for the opportunity to make a difference this year – and there is still so much more to do! Will you consider a year-end donation to help us finish out 2023 strong?
