SagerStrong Foundation 5th Annual “Living Out Loud” Golf Tourney Raises Fund for Blood Cancer Research in Memory of Craig Sager

The Tournament held on June 20th at Hawks Ridge Golf Course, featured a day of cool contests, fun food and drink stations, silent auction, and post golf awards ceremony.

ATLANTA (July 1, 2022) — The SagerStrong Foundation’s 5th Annual “Living Out Loud Golf Tournament raised over $75,000 for blood cancer research. The tournament was held on Monday, June 20th, 2022 at Hawks Ridge Golf Club located in Ball Ground, Georgia. Originally created in 2016 by the late sports broadcaster, Craig Sager and his wife, Stacy, the Living Out Loud Tournament, supports the mission of the SagerStrong Foundation and gives hope where it is needed most by the families dealing with a blood cancer diagnosis. A portion of the funds raised will help fund clinical trials and blood cancer research. The SagerStrong 2019 Hometown Hero, Peyton White, spoke at this year’s golf tournament and was given a $5000 scholarship for college, courtesy of Chris Beaudet and the WGB Group and a match via the SagerStrong Foundation..

The four-person scramble format Shotgun start tournament featured a fun day of golf, cool contests, fun food and drink stations, silent auction, and post golf awards ceremony. Wes Durham (voice of the Falcons), and Ovie Mughelli (former Falcons), hit the links to help raise funds. Alison Mastrangelo (WSBTV Sports Anchor and SagerStrong Board Member) joined SagerStrong Foundation President, Stacy Sager, out on the course to welcome all the participants and thank them for their support. 92.9 The Game Sports personalities were on hand to broadcast LIVE all day to capture all the fun and excitement of the day!

Mutombo Coffee, from Dikembe’s native country, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Chick-Fil-A Canton, and Duck Donuts East Cobb provided a little pick-me-up for all the golfers as they registered and made their way to the practice range. Thank you to Woodford Reserve, Three Taverns Brewery, Georgia Hemp and Tito’s Vodka for providing quick pit stops on the links for delicious refreshments; and Shottenkirk Jeep in Canton for the great contest on the course. Long Drive Champion and former LPGA golfers, Heather Manfredda and Jean Reynolds – from Charity Golf International – entertained golfers with their golf skills while raising funds for blood cancer research!.

The post golf awards ceremony featured a light dinner, a silent auction with unique experiences and sports memorabilia. Winning bidders went home with some cool sports memorabilia, including framed Trae Young jersey; luxury vacation trips to Tuscany, Cabo, and Napa; Sports tickets to the Atlanta Hawks, concerts tickets to New Kids on the Block, Kevin Hart, Keith Urban, and more at State Farm Arena; golf packages to Orlando and so much more!.
