Over 450 runners and family members showed for the SagerStrong Foundation third annual Stadium Fun Run yesterday inside Truist Park to raise funds for blood cancer research. This fun but challenging course, designed for the baseball enthusiast, took runners on a journey inside and throughout Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves –around the main concourse, through the maze of ramps, to different levels of the stadium — as they finished strong inside Truist Park, took selfies on the warning track, and enjoyed the morning from the same perspective as their FAVORITE Braves players!
The SagerStrong 3K Stadium Fun Run, sponsored by Northside Hospital, and supported by the Cumberland Group and the Atlanta Braves, is a family-friendly event – designed with all ages in mind – there was a 3K run, walk, and a short Dash on the field (ages 7 & under). In addition to a fun run through the ballpark – the only run of its kind contained entirely within Truist Park — our fun run participants received a t-shirt, as well as an Atlanta Braves game ticket to the Braves vs. Giants game, August 28th at 7 pm.
The fun run event began and ended with a staggered party in TENT TOWN – a fun, interactive area of vendors and games in the space outside the Left Field gate, created just for runners/walkers of this event, in waves, with food options like Duck Donuts and Noting Bundt Cakes, while the DJ played music and lots of giveaways from Tent Town participants. Participants were joined by Freddie Falcon, Blooper, the Georgia Swarm mascot and the Atlanta Hawks Flight Crew Plus, out in tent town, and top runners in each category were celebrated with prizes from Chick-Fil-A and Tiffs Treats. Thank you again to our wonderful partners for hosting our Tent Town party: Big Peach Running Company, Cobb Sports Alliance, Duck Donuts, Excellence in Exercise, Chick-Fil-A, Costco Wholesale, Northside Hospital Concussion Institute, Club Pilates Roswell, Nothing Bundt Cakes, True Speed Photos, Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services, Jeremiah’s Italian Ice, the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Hawks, Full Scope Sports, Georgia Swam Professional Lacrosse team, American Red Cross, and Georgia CORE.
